Expansions/Relocation

Dollar Tree will expand to Tarrant Parkway Plaza in the same building as Ross Dress For Less at the southwest corner of N. Tarrant Pkwy and Davis Boulevard. Occupying approximately 10,000 square feet of vacant space, Dollar Tree plans to open by the end of the year. Their lease is for 10 years with two 5 year options. Each location typically generates $1.5 to $2 million in taxable sales per year. The owner plans to reposition the storefront of the shopping center placing Dollar Tree to the southern part of the center and creating a middle junior anchor space available for lease to fill out the building.

Developments

The City of North Richland Hills is ahead of the game when it comes to providing incentives to new and existing businesses that stimulate the local economy. These incentives include: tax abatement, sales tax agreements, infrastructure improvements, tax exempt financing, Freeport, building fee waivers, Business Improvement & Growth Program (BIG), Development Review Committee (DRC), and job training.

The result of these efforts can be seen throughout the community, including the redevelopment of the former Crossroads Village Shopping Center, now called The Shoppes at Crown Point, located on the northeast corner of NE Loop 820 and Rufe Snow Drive.

Incentives also assisted in the relocation of Prestige Ameritech, the largest manufacturer of surgical masks in the U.S., to 7201 Iron Horse Boulevard. Multiple businesses have also taken advantage of our Business Improvement & Growth Program, and the city is proud of the results seen so far. North Richland Hills is committed to not only recruiting new businesses to the City, but also retaining the businesses that are currently within the community.

Other News

The City has began long awaited improvements to North Tarrant Parkway. This project, which started in April, will reconstruct and widen the road from just west of Davis Boulevard in NRH to Whitley Road in Keller. The section of the road in NRH will be widened to three lanes in each direction. Improvements will also be made to widen the intersection at North Tarrant Parkway and Smithfield Road. Landscaped medians, six-foot sidewalks, benches, trash receptacles and light fixtures will also be added. The City believes this project will not only improve the look and feel of North Tarrant Parkway, but more importantly improve traffic flow and traffic safety.

Now North Richland Hills residents have another reason to visit local NRH businesses. The City of North Richland Hills has partnered with a local software development company, Skeds, to launch a new initiative aimed at boosting sales for NRH businesses via online coupons. The Program, known as “SHOP NRH” allows North Richland Hills businesses to create a home page on the website, www.skeds.com/nrh, where it can offer discounts on goods and services through coupons which can be printed out directly by residents from the website all for FREE!
