Expansions/Relocations

Kaufman County Single Appraisal District has closed on 1.7 acres in Kaufman’s Business Park and is expected to break ground on a 10,000 square feet office building by this summer.

It was reported in late April that the Trinity Valley Community College board of trustees has voted to implement a significant expansion of their Nursing College campus in Kaufman.

Kaufman County announced minor renovations to the Kaufman County Annex located on the east side of the historic town square.

Developments

The Kaufman EDC announced it is planning to re-plat four of its lots in city owned Millennium Business Park.

Thomas Protective Services completed its new corporate headquarters recently and held their ribbon cutting ceremony in April. The facility is located on U.S. 175 at Jiba Road.

Infinity HVAC leased and remodeled a building on S. Washington in early Spring. Start-up is expected in May.

The Kaufman Economic Development Corporation purchased 42 acres fronting U.S. 175 to be used for business and industry recruiting. The land abuts the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center to the west.

Leadership Kaufman County Class of 2010 kicked off their fund raising drive to establish a Countywide Crime Stoppers program. The program raises private funds to be used as rewards and to attract tipsters throughout the county.

Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Kaufman held its 3rd Annual 5-K Walk and Fun Run in March. More than 300 individuals participated.

Part of a community “green” initiative, the Kaufman Chamber is organizing an effort to establish a fixed route, low cost public transportation system along the State Hwy. 34 and 243 corridors in Kaufman.

The City of Kaufman announced the formation of a new Neighborhood Enhancement Action Team program to assist in sprucing up six of its neighborhoods. They are targeting their first project in May and hope to attract more than a dozen community organizations to assist with trash removal, landscaping, painting, etc.

The 7th Annual Blue Gill Kid’s Fishing Tournament will be held at Star Brand Ranch’s Big Lake. The Kaufman Police Association is asking for support of any donations to assist with the annual tournament. All donations and proceeds support fishing gear and awards.
